I think he basically called the Hungerian Bomb Chilli a "peppadew" in South Africa where most are rather un-chilli minded (and bland) people did not realise that it was not the given name for the fruit and started calling it Peppadews, this led to the brand name being applied incorrectly to the plant, however by the time everyone realised it the damage had been done, its a bit like "hoovering" your house. In a nutshell he has a brandname that everyone applies to the chilli (incorrectly) Brent -----Original Message----- From: Mark Ellis - Glacier Design [mailto:mark@glacierdesign.net] Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2001 1:25 PM To: Brent Hudson Subject: RE: [CH] Re:Peppadew Yes, but this guy reckons that it is the plant name, and that he has the worldwide plant rights to grow this chile commercially i.e like Red Savina. /-----Original Message----- /From: Brent Hudson [mailto:Brent@moonlighting.co.za] /Sent: Tuesday, 5 June 2001 9:13 PM /To: 'mark@glacierdesign.net' /Subject: RE: [CH] Re:Peppadew / / /Pepperdews is the trade name for the actual bottled chillies, not the fruit /Brent / /-----Original Message----- /From: mark@glacierdesign.net [mailto:mark@glacierdesign.net] /Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2001 12:00 PM /To: chile-heads-digest@globalgarden.com /Subject: [CH] Re:Peppadew / / /G'day All, / /Someone posted the other day about what the heck are "Peppadew" chiles.
