Just returned from beautiful and glorious Brittish Columbia and Alberta Canada. Saw some of the most spectacular sights I've seen anywhere. Sorry I wasn't able to visit all the ChileHeads along the route (peter g, Jim in YK, etc). Got to meet Doug and Marie, though. Two of the nicest folks you'd ever meet. Fed us a GREAT dinner (though I haven't seen the recipe posted) and took us on a tour of Nanaimo. Hard to believe that an old guy like that manages to take care of such a large building ;-) The highlight of the stay (other than meeting someone who'd put up with the likes of him for over 50 years :-) was Dougs' presentation to us of a couple of buttons of his fathers' firemans dress uniform! They are turn of the century- only slightly less than Doug ;-) Still have Toronto FD and a Lt bar stamped on them- they will occupy a prominent place on my Fire Dept stuff board and the other Lieutenants' Urban Search and Rescue hat! Don't listen to him! He only is saying nice things about me 'cause I dropped enough chile stuff that his grandkids are going to have to sort it all out years from now :-P I am continually amazed that out of all the people I have met through this list, that I have yet to meet anyone who isn't an outstanding person. I'm already planning the next trip & hope to have some more time! Lake Louise has got to be the most beautiful place on earth, followed closely by Banff. Thanks again Doug and Marie! -Jim C Mild to Wild
