I'm rising from the depths of lurkingdom to exclaim, "You mean, I threw out all that hot sauce and it was probably still good??!!! As of this summer, I am married and moved. Besides trying to fit all my furniture into a house already full of furniture, I had to decide which hot sauces I couldn't live without while moving "my stuff" into "our" frig. I love them all, (just can't eat a lot in one sitting) but decided the oldest must go. I may have chosen differently if I'd known it was all still good. Just had a visit from a fellow chilehead co-worker. He works on the other side of the building in a company of 350 people but we always seems to find each other to share. Today, he brought me a piece of "spice cake". After I took a mouthful and my eyes watered, he says, "I guess I could've used just one tablespoon of habs instead of two." Geez! A little warning would have been nice. But I'm over the tears and finished the rest. Thank goodness for the cream cheese frosting. It cooled it a bit. My lonely four pepper plants are doing great. One rocotto plant is covered with peppers and they are starting to turn red. (Here's to overwintering!) Hope you all are having a great summer. Sorry to say, I will miss the midwest hotluck in MN and the Open Fields this year...too much going on BUT..I'll be thinking of ya.
