Well folks, it is time again to announce the open fields. The chiles are all safely in the ground and doing as well as can be expected for 90F & 90% humidity. I am also VERY pleased to announce that our very own Rael has decided to make the trek from the wilds of Idaho to the wilds of Indiana to runst among the chile peppers! Yup... a regular Woodstock this is becoming :-) Now I've just gotta stock up on batteries so that the strains of Jimi can float across the fields from the CD player. THAT will be a change for the neighbors ;-) I'd also like to announce the completion of another cooperative effort from fellow listers. Brad Ellis and Jeff Shickowski hade been diligently working on a poster to commemorate the event. It can be seen at: http://www.wildpepper.com/spacepodesy.html As this event has grown slighlty larger than the modest means of my wanna be evil corporate empire can sustain, the purchase of a poster will go towards the rental of a large tent (so that we can stay dry this year if it rains!) and porto-pottys to replace the apple trees & horseradish leaves ('nuff said). I can number the poster to match your chile card or I can number them all #2 (Jeff & Brad get #1). In keeping with the non-commercial nature of this list (and the event), any proceeds above and beyond what are absolutely necessary to cover expenses will be donated to the Local 416 Firefighter Charities (Survive Alive House, Burn Camp, Fallen Firefighters' Memorial, etc). I regret that as of this posting, payment is still only by check or money order. I have filled out an app for credit card processing though and hope to have it up soon (a step towards becomming an evil corporate empire that I have resisted long enough I guess). At the request of several rsvpers', I will also try to secure some rates at a nearby hotel. If people can start to RSVP me, it'd be appreciated. Please indicate: arrival date, people attending, camping/hoteling/staying with us, and any special needs. Thanks & look forward to seeing everyone there! -Jim C Mild to Wild BTW- pardon the slow mail. Working our County Fair and trying (impossible) to keep CaJohn happy at the same time :-)
