Good morning Risa,
It shouldn't be hung in the sun because too much heat will cause head to
split. Curing instructions I've read are to hang garlic in an enclosed area
that has good air circulation. Mine are hung near the ceiling in our three
seasons porch with the ceiling fan running. You can just hang it in the
kitchen (on a pot rack?) and use it now if you want as curing only lengthens
storage life.
This was my first try at growing garlic & I'll be putting in more
this fall. I built a raised bed 4X35', worked in lots of compost & peat moss
& planted bulbs in Oct. through landscape fabric for weed suppression.
Watered heavily, fertilized lightly & turned two lbs. of seed stock into 60
lbs. of produce. No bugs/no hassle!!
Absolutely right about growing conditions. Nothing beats heat for
Solanaceae family! My cherry tomato plants are over 7' high and show no
signs of slowing.
Will be leaving today for weekend vacation in NH so don't post until Mon.
please.
    Heat also helping peppers,
         Paul
