My family and I were at the Knowlton Riverfest in Knowlton, NJ yesterday and when we got in we saw that there was a hot sauce vendor. We knew that I would be going over and sniffing around (and hopefully tasting a little). Well, after having some pretty decent bbq pork, I decided to take a gander. THey had a great variety of hot sauces in such a small space. I got to talking to the owners and they saw Eat the Heat, but didn't remember me on it just someone making chocolate brownies. Anyway, I ended up tasting a couple and talking chiles. I also ended up leaving with 3 bottles (like I needed more): Mountainman Fire Roasted Habanero Sauce Georgia Peach & Vidalia Onino Hot Sauce Crabanero - Very Hot! (I think this is one that Karen Stober bought at Bowers 2000) This is the name of the hot sauce vendor: Peppers of NJ Wharton, NJ Terry and Ken (the owners) were both very nice and very helpful. They knew their stuff. They told me stories about Dave of Dave's Insanity. I had a good time talking to them. Plus, also at the festival, a chili vendor had on the side 4 bottles (none of them Tabasco) - Crystal, Dave's Insanity, and two others. I was happy to see the Tabasco was no where to be seen. It was a good time and good music - especially Stanley Jordan! The festival went from Friday night to tonight. I'll come back again next year. Great time and good food.
