Hey CH's I had dinner out on Saturday at the Chinese restaurant in town, and ordered the bean curd family style. I told the lady to make it EXTRA HOT. Needless to say, when it arrived, despite the presence of much red pepper flakes, there was not much heat at all. In all seriousness, my non-CH wife could have eaten it. When I told the waitress about the lack of heat she ran to the kitchen saying something about "Habaneros, very hot!" She came back with a concoction of sliced Habs, cooked in oil with garlic, salt, black pepper and black beans (not the cuban style black beans-these were smaller and had a VERY pungent and unusual flavor when eaten plain...I tried the bean right from the can. They are available in Chinese market only). The flavor was fantastic, and the heat! Now that was what I meant when I said "extra hot". The next time I order dinner there, we have an understanding of what extra hot means.
