I work in the area. 7 World Trade, which collapsed about 5 :30 pm, is across the street from my workplace. I am horror struck, deeply saddened, and coldly angry. My sympathies and prayers to the families of those heroic folks who responded to the initial crashes - police, fire, medical workers - only to be caught in the collapse of the buildings. Thousands of people gone - on the planes and in their offices. World Trade was very special to me for many reasons, but particularly because of the free concerts there during the summer months at lunchtime and after work. so much harmony and joy, gone forever. Many businesses in the area will probably close permanently, for they depended upon the 30-40,000+ workers in the World Trade, and on the thousands of daily tourists. In the face of such ugly and cruel evil, try to create something of harmony and joy, to preserve our humanity, and in memory of those who no longer can. But even a fresh ripe cayenne could not dim the horror of today's events. Bernie noo yawk siddy
