I have Dundicut (Dandicut) seeds from Pakistan. There's been some discussion about whether they should be classified as C. Annuum or C. Chinense. I got no response from Pakistan when I asked and was kind of inclined to think that they were Annuum because I hadn't seen any historical evidence that Chinense made it to that part of the world. I finally dug out "Peppers of the World" by DeWitt and Bosland and looked at the flowers and their table on page 2 today: 1. Seeds tan Go to 2. 2. Corolla without spots Go to 3 3. Corolla greenish Go to 5 5. Flowers two or more per node C. Chinense I also looked at Prairie Fire, a C. Annuum. The Corolla is white and the flowers are solitary and the filament is nonpurple. Unless someone has some convincing evidence to the contrary, I'm going with Dundicut as C. Chinense. For any of you scientific types who want to experiment, contact me and I'll send you some seeds. The fruits are quite small, about 2cm x 1cm and are erect. Immature color is green-purple. None have matured yet. Probably the closest image in Peppers of the World is USDA 238046 on page 68.
