I realize that no outsider could run or control such a country. The Brits couldn't at the height of their empire. I was thinking more along the lines of quickly disposing of the current government and parachuting in the leader of the rebel party (whoever Massoud's successor will be). Now, with the calmness that comes after a few day's thought, I realize that even that may well be impossible. Hopefully it will not be necessary to even try. The Taliban is actually conferring over the ultimatum; they might conceivably give bin Laden up. Jim Weller
