I've got one of those Braun hand blenders -- it isn't great as a "wand" type blender if you wanted to, say, puree some soup still in the pot. I think that industrial, restaurant-type wands are good for this. However, it is great for, say, emulsifying vinaigrettes or making mayonnaise. Furthermore, the little food processor that the wand "plugs in" to is great for things like mincing garlic and chiles (I don't like to use it for fresh herbs because I think they tend to bruise and lose color) -- as long as the blade stays sharp. Overall, I would say that for only $13, you should certainly buy this item. Standard disclaimer applies. Matt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ T. Dear CH'ers, Local supermarket has a Braun Handblender on sale for $12.95. Seems to be comprised of both a stick mixer and a mini-processor. The mixer fits into the processor and provides the power to turn the chopping blade. Does anyone have one of these....and do you like it? Seems you could chop peppers, herbs and maybe make small quantities of salsa in it.
