Green Bells Many of us community gardeners grew "California Wonder" plants we were given with our plots. I tried to let them get large but many were stricken by maybe a bug bite/blister pale beige spot (looked like a blister). Some tried to turn red which was okay but it seemed to happpen early meaning the peppers never got very large, in fact my plants didn't get very large at all. Because I Planted out a bit late?? Mine look better than one or two other gardeners plants. but not all. Also I was allowed to pick anthers plants.. they had some interesting light yellow-green peppers (still bell) I left them all in the back of the pick up one night in 37F weather. last night when I brought them in I noted they were a bit soft compared to all others. any ideas on this?? I have a whitish pepper Ivory I think but these in question are more of a faint greenish color. Don't anyone start a Anti-Bell Rant. the only free thing I wouldn't grow are the Sweet Potatoes those _are_ banned in my house. LOL!! I planted a Red Beauty in a small pot and got small stunted peppers. admittedly I did not tend to the pot well. any relation to the above stunted peppers stunted roots?? --leslie USDA 6a Sunset 35 Louisville, Kentucky.
