If you have the chance, while in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, there is a fantastic Mexican/Salvadoran restaurant located at 37th and Lafayette Road, called La Cabaņa. I can't rave enough about this place. The food isn't terribly hot, but we all know how to adjust it, right? The flavors are incredible. Perfect posole, Salvadoran tamales (wrapped in banana leaves, not corn husk) whole deep fried tilapia (drool!!) And the best part is, they lay this out in a hot buffet style setting, in addition to ala carte ordering. The buffet is definitely a "this will be your only meal today" type of thing. My mom, god bless her nearly 81-year-old self, keeps having me bring home the cactus.. it tastes very much like baked potato, with a sweet tinge. I love the place. I would move in and live there if I could. Did I mention that I liked it? I may have to go tonight! George Indy ps. The four jalapeņo plants from my garden are now indoors, molting leaves like the maple trees outside. The leaves that remain are plump and firm, but how much longer do I expect to be sweeping leaves?
