Ted, get thee to El Sol on East Washington! They have a *wonderful* chicken mole dish. My nextdoor neighbor (Mrs. Garcia) bought a "deli tray" of it for her daughter's 15th birthday party (special name for it--quincentera or something like that, equivalent to a gringo sweet-16 event) and I was the receiver of the leftovers. Muy bueno, indeed.

On the subject of Indianapolis' Hispanic influx, all that I've seen has been good. There are so many new sources of groceries, etc., and I can get good, fresh chiles, tomatillos, cilantro y tortillas year round, and not having to pay usurious amounts for them. It is amazing. I can find big plump jalapenos at the local mercado, for under $2/lb, year round, and Don Marsh charges $3.99 /lb most of the year. Same goes for all the other "Mexican" produce. So, it is small independent stores for me. I've learned.

But then, after having been blessed by Jim's Open Field beneficence, I won't be buying chiles til spring!

Happy Hot-o-we'en, everyone! When El Grande rises out of the chile fields,
may he bestow a mighty hot blessing on all of you!
