Just want to add that here in the nation's midsection there has been a mini-explosion of new hot sauce varieties offered in our grocery stores.

One of the 5 new Louisiana brand sauces is Chipotle. Tried their new Habanero & it was good, but wasn't very hot. Haven't found the Chipotle yet, but it can be bought at their online store for 85¢ per bottle. Also tried their new Jalapeño Hot Sauce. Good flavor, but no heat.

Bufalo brand Chipotle is also available here. It was marked "VERY HOT". Unfortunately, it is very "NOT". Very thick sauce. Note: Bufalo is marketed by Herdez which is the king of salsas in my opinion. Starting about 25 years ago, my parents would buy a case in Mexico every year and drop it off here on the way back to their summer home in Minnesota. The little cans were all in Spanish. Eventually stores in the Kansas City area started carrying the Herdez salsa with English labels. It was/is milder stuff.

Just received an order from Uncle Steve consisting of Green Hornet Sauce, Red Savina flakes and Chipolte (sp?) powder. Have only tried the Green Hornet so far. It was very good, but had thought that it would be hotter. http://ushotstuff.com/

I'm a real fan of the Original Louisiana Hot Sauce and wish I could add some heat to it. To me the taste is just right & am hoping that the Red Savina flakes will complement it.

Will probably order some of the Tabasco Chipolte if Brad likes it.
