Well, I finally got around to trying that Chipotle Tabasco® sauce I spoke of in my last post.....It's definitely *not* what I was expecting. Good aroma and thickness, but the flavor just isn't what I wanted. The "smokiness" almost tastes man-made, like they added liquid smoke (yech!) to the batch. I would recommend it as an additive sauce only, not as a topping to a finished dish. I did add it to a chicken wing recipe, and it tasted pretty good. It might go will in a spaghetti sauce recipe, too. But if I add it to a finished product, it's not that great, IMHO. At least 2 bottles will end up staying on my hot sauce display shelves permanently. I do enjoy the Tabasco® Habanero Sauces and the Garlic Pepper Sauces, though. Also, the classic Tabasco® sauce finds it way onto my plate (as a last resort) when I'm dining out and forget my own personal stash of sauce or powder. I just wish restaurants would carry the Habanero Tabasco® Sauce, but, that would only be a dream. JimC's Red Savina® powder (smoked & plain) is my choice heat stash for dining out. I keep a small shaker in my car at all times. :̃ -Brad ........................................................... "Don't be afraid, it won't burn.........MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
