FWIW I have been using for a few years an old Chilly-bin (NZ) Esky (OZ) cooler (US). In plain English a polystyrene bin:-) I mounted a bulb holder with a 15w bulb(Oven light) this keeps steady temperature of around 85'F which germinates seeds of most plants. I plant the seeds in seed mix and place the seed container in a tray cover with brown paper and a sheet of glass until the seed germinate. A soon as the seedlings are big enough move into the hot water cupboard under a florescent light. Until big enough to harden off for planting. Tony Flynn Grandad. Retired at the beach. Bay of Plenty.
