(Although, in general, Jim, a substance doesn't have to be an acid to be caustic or cause burns. Lye for instance, also known as soda lye and caustic soda.) And I recall the police using Que tips to rub it into protestors eyes at some sit-in (in the US) a while back. Pretty barbaric if you ask me, but there was no blistering or permanent damage I'm aware of. Riley
