Hi there. I've been a bit negligent with the chili plants I brought in for the winter. Many ripe pods started to shrivel right on the plant, and are not attractive for fresh use! I picked them all and am drying them, to be ground into powder, but I have started to wonder if during their (very) excessive over-ripening period, they may have become host to anything nasty. Can anyone tell me if I'm making a deadly powder here? I am drying them VERY thoroughly at low temp in the oven. Many are thin-walled chilies (super H, cayenne) and dried almost completely on the plant, but I also have some banana, hot-wax, chinese.... BTW: I made a delicious powder of all the chilies that got hit (and mushy!) by a cold frosy night. Finally: Is there anyone else here in Alberta, just out of curiousity? Thanks all! take care Keegan _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
