I continue to be the most famous person no one's ever heard of ;-)
Golly- you know the January centerfold in Hoosier Farmer magazine :-P I
was also just nominated 'Farmer of the Week' on the agri-america network
& did a short radio interview. Should be a link up on my site shortly,
linking to their site for the interview. The program 'Across Indiana'
(Feb 11th 7:30 pm) will also show me cooking for the guys at the
firehouse as well as the footage from the open fields. Several of us
Hoosiers need to adopt pen pals for the folks who were there at Open
Fields so that we can record it & get copies to those that were there
from the nether reaches of the list. I doubt the Idaho PBS station
carries it ;-) This also seems a better idea than tossing a couple of
copies out onto the seas. I volunteer to take care of Cajohn, Cameron,
& Rael. Any other Hoosiers want to step up?

Speaking of Open Fields.... It appears there WILL be an open fields
this fall. It should be a much better event this time around for
several reasons, none of which involve me actually maybe being there.
I've nearly completed negotiations on contracting my commercial farming
out so the Open Fields patch will have no other purpose than to supply
bounty to those attending. There will be no harvest restrictions and no
need to try and pick stuff for the poor sap hosting the event. The only
purpose the plot will have is to support this event. You'll be able to
pick as much as you want with a clear conscience. As a result though,
the plot will be quite a bit smaller. I figure about a 1/4 acre
(roughly 2,000 plants) should suffice us though I will gladly accept
advice on the matter. Likely dates are the 28th & 29th of September for
those of you needing to make plans. More details as they are
discovered.

Fiery Foods Show Gathering- A couple of suggestions here. There are
several of us evil corporate types who would like to attend the
gathering but will be hard pressed to do so if it is a dinner. Mightn't
we consider a breakfast perchance? Failing that, and having already
discussed it with CaJohn, here is another option. He and I (okay- he
mostly) are renting the banquet room at the Doubletree Friday night for
a show party. We'd like to offer to host the gathering there. This has
several benefits, only a few of which are selfish ;-) One, we get to be
there. Two, you will get tons of FREE FOOD. Three, you get to hob nob
(if you wish) with many of the more famous evil corporate types in the
industry while eating FREE FOOD. Four, there will be a reasonably
priced cash bar to go with your FREE FOOD. Five, it ain't far to walk
from the show. Six, I won't have far to walk to my room at 2 AM when it
ends ;-) Did I mention lots of FREE FOOD? The food will be very varied
(etouffe, spiced meatballs, poppers, etc) and all chile related of
course. Just a suggestion....

The FoodTV is also going to be filming one non-descript Indiana chile
farmer again on Jan 25th. I don't know when it will air yet but it
supposed to be a very diverse program on 'extreme foods' and will
include many segments. I invited them to the FFS and they accepted.

I think I've taken up enough bandwidth for one message. Sorry Peter ;-)
