I have to share this with ya'll. I made 2 gallons of hot sauce this year some of which was made from a small portion of orange habs and hot cherry peppers from open fields. This stuff is hot. Not as hot as some other stuff out there, but wow you'll know you're eating it!!! I've given away a bottle here and there because I just can't consume this much as I would cayenne hot pepper sauce. Well, plus I get a bit of an upset stomach when I consume any considerable amounts of habanero. As in whirly durvey stomach syndrome! So, I usually stick to cayenne. Last week, I bumped into a gentleman I work with at the cafeteria. While ordering a sub he said, "make sure you put a lot of peppers on the side..." as in pepperocini. Now, of course, this is my exact habit as well and I usually get a good handsome portion with my sandwiches too. I asked him if he liked hot sauce too, "oh yea! And so does my wife." I offered to give him a bottle of my sauce and a bottle of Juanita's Picante since I bought a couple cases. (Did I say I liked hot sauce?) He called me today to tell me his wife fixed a beans and rice dish for dinner. He dotted a couple drops on his while his wife "shook the bottle about 15 times over her food". And, she loved it. Then, he said something I NEVER thought I'd hear outside my family. He said she'd like ANOTHER bottle and she wanted to .... ahem PAY ME for it! Ah, get outta here! Now, I don't know about ya'll, but when you make this stuff JUST for the enjoyment of sharing it, having someone insist to pay for a bottle, that's a compliment. I was quite humbled by the comment.
