YES! I would love to grow some Rocotos here in 25 miles east of SF inland towards Sacratomato! We have dry hot weather and the chiles love it and so we! LOL I absolutely love the flavour of the red and the yellow Rocotos. We often eat at a local Peruvian restaurant where mama in the kitchen makes a gorgeous dipping sauce from these. I asked her about seeds, no, she takes a key and opens the pantry room and shows me cans and jars of rocotos. Amazonas Brand Rocoto Sauce - Salsa de Rocoto Rocotos - Aji Panca Salsa These 7 1/2 ounce jars cost $2.29 plus large cans same brand of whole rocotos and Aji Panca both in yellow and red which "mama" makes her sauces from :-) It is chiles plus water and preservative-just pure wonderful flavor! Oh wow is this ever great stuff. Found it at the local Hispanic market in the Peruvian section near the purple corn for a favourite drink. Now this Amazona is located in Sherman Oaks, CA 818 982-1377 phone 818 906-3450 fax For any in the East Bay area this restaurant is in downtown Concord. They serve awesome traditional Peruvian tamales-two kinds! Oh yum. Something else Peruvian that is worth a try <BEG> Pisco Sour.
