I know we have had discussions about the combination of peanut butter and chiles before. Ever since those early discussions, I've been having a PB & Chile Sandwich every single week on Wednesdays!! I decided today to adapt the Fried PB Sandwich in Nigella Bites by Nigella Lawson. She mashes the bananas so I decided to mince a chile and mash it in with the banana and continue with the recipe. This is what I did: * Exported from MasterCook * Fried PB, Banana & Chile Sandwich Recipe By : RisaG Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Chiles Nuts Sandwich Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 small ripe banana -- mashed 2 slices white bread (not too soft) 1 small ripe chile -- seeded & minced smooth peanut butter 1 tbsp unsalted butter Lightly toast the bread. Spread the peanut butter on one side. Mash together the banana with the chile. Place it on the other slice of bread. Place a small pan over medium heat. Melt the butter. Put the two parts of the sandwich together. Fry the sandwich in the butter until golden brown on both sides. Remove to a plate, cut in half and eat. Serve with chips! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was delectable. Of course, it would've been a bit more enjoyable if the chile had been really hot. I remembered I had habs in the freezer long after I put the sandwich in the pan. Oh well.
