Hi Steve, That was me & a few other list members that have bought Jal's that have NO heat. Had the same situation a few years ago & Rodney Livingston, another list member, just had it happen in Jan. this year in Canada. Bought a bunch of Jal's 'cause I used all the ones I had & one of them was HOT, much hotter than the rest. At the time I didn't have the presence of mind to think about saving the seeds. To answer your question, your suppose to save seeds from mature fruit, a little past ripe but not rotten. As to whether or not the seeds you saved will grow, had to say, but if you saved some, what the hey! give 'em a try. As to whether or not they'll be as hot, very hard to say especially if their a hybrid.
