Peter, I've been interested in some kind of "stove top" or "oven" smoker since trying to smoke some Jals in my grill to make chipotle (which was a disaster, too much heat/ too little smoke/too much beer/too little checking over 24hrs., you get the idea). Was in Wal-Mart last week & saw a "stove top" smoker pkg. that caught my eye & almost bought it 'cept what I was looking for was out of stock(seed starting stuff) & I didn't have time to stand in checkout line. It was in the garden dept. near the grilling stuff. If you have a Wally World near you, check it out. If you don't or can't find it, contact me & I'll return to mine & buy 1 to get you the info & me a stove top smoker. Paul PS As I remember it was a disposable kind/not an expensive unit like Sausage Maker http://www.sausagemaker.com/shop/newcat.html?cat=Smokehouses#anchor-41010 ----- Original Message ----- From: "peter g" <peter.g@telus.net> To: "Chad A Gard" <gard@indy.net>; "Chile Heads" <chile-heads@globalgarden.com> Sent: Monday, 15 April, 2002 9:35 PM Subject: Re: [CH] StoveTop Smoker? > Chad , > > If you have a stovetop smoker ... > can you describe the aforementioned "stovetop smoker"? > i've never seen such a kitchen item offered for sale, here in the cold, > wet, wilds of the Pacific NorthWest so there may be other CH'ers > who have some curiosity as well. > Brand name? does it fill the kitchen with smoke? expensive? > recommended usage tips? temp control? price? chipotles?! > > thanks > peter g
