At a suggestion (great idea) from Alex S, discussed over beverages at the Indiana Hotluck (I vaguely remember ;-), and finalized with e-mails from Susan Byers, the following offer is put forth: Susan has graciously and generously set aside a list of plants she is willing to donate to the Open Fields events. If you would like to have a particular variety planted there for harvesting, then visit her at www.thechilewoman.com or e-mail her at chilewmn@bluemarble.net for the particulars. I'm sure she'd even let you pay her if there are some you must have that aren't on her donated list ;-) She'll get them to me late May & they'll go into the patch. She promises she'll be there this fall to identify them for me :-) The bright sunshine and warm temps have got me thinking 'busy season!' and that prompts me to put out the list of what will be available, God willing, at the Open Fields 2002- 'In the Garden of Heatin'. This also counts as the first of several official 'ya'll comes'. There'll be at least 50 or more of the following chile vareties, most will have over 100, and several will have over a few hundred: Tabasco, Varingata, Yatsafusa, Thai Dragon, Gypsy, Orange Hab, Red Savina(R) Hab, LRT Cayenne, Big Jim, Peter Pepper, Mutant Jalapeno, Pequin, Anaheim, Chimayo, Tepin, Poinsettia, Marbles, New Mex 6-4, DeArbol, Aji Amarillo, Purira, Bolivian Rainbow, Black Czech, Filus Blue, Poblano, Pasilla Bajio, Cherry Hot, Bulgarian Carrot, Medusa, Purple Serrano, Yellow Squash, Dundicutt, Pepperoncini, Thai Hot, Serrano, Serrano Del Sol, Largo Purple, Red Caribbean, Purple Peruvian, Acongagua, Pimiento, Corno Di Toro, New Mex Twilight, Pretty Purple, Jigsaw, Malagueta, Sandia, Red Scotch Bonnet, Santaka. This field will exist only for the purpose of this event- no harvest restrictions, no guilty feelings about taking something I might need, no slave driving from CaJohn & Cameron :-) Help yourselves.... PLEASE! Did I leave anything out? :-) See you all there Sept 28th & 29th -Jim C Mild to Wild
