   I agree with the sunburn diagnosis. My plants suffer
the same thing every year, but that may be because I'm
not motivated enough to bother with hardening them off.
It usually takes them a couple of days after transplanting
to show their dismay.
   The good news is that it is not a fatal condition and
they will bounce back nicely.  In my experience they come
back stronger than ever.  I have had my crop in the ground
for two weeks and they are happy, healthy and setting fruit.
Even my leggy aji amarillos are coming around, and they were
looking pretty pathetic for a while.

   55 degrees F for overnight low is recommended, but the
ocaissional dip into the forties shouldn't hurt too much.
