Archaeologists are excavating an old mining town outside of Reno, NV, and found one of the very first Tabasco bottles at a saloon. Over 30,000 items have been excavated, but it took hotsauce for it to make the news (ok, so it's too vinegary and not very hot, but it's still cool that they found it...) "The bottle suggests that the saloon -- which was owned by a black man from Massachusetts and catered to blacks and whites from 1864-75 -- was among the first eateries to introduce the now-popular spicy sauce."
