This was interesting as I just finished compiling all sales info and making sure all greenhouse pickups were in my database. Every season, there are one or two peppers that are suddenly in demand. I can never figure out why. Sometimes a pepper gets mentioned on TV or in a movie (I had a run on malagueta after it was mentioned in a Penelope Cruz movie), but other times it is a mystery to me. Last year, the Peruvian was the unexpected bestseller. This season it was the Booney. Last year, I sold ONE! Booney plant: our local community food bank garden ended up with lots of Booney plants. This year, it seemed like everyone wanted a Booney pepper and lots of them. Any ideas as to why this pepper is so popular now?
