I normally "stress" peppers grown in 5 gal. pails at mature level by holding back water until leaves wilt slightly. This year I had a hell of a time just trying to keep up with water requirements of *all* plants in pails. I'm with many on list that are reasonable heat level pepper eaters, but this year all peppers seem hotter. Next year I'm gonna' take a nursery supplied Jal & stress it from day 1 & see what happens.
