Overwatering is a good way to kill off your plants. It's very difficult to control stress in a plant that way. Underwatering, watering only when ground is dry and leaves starting to wilt is an easier stress method.
I had several hab plants that almost died (Everything dropped off except for 1 leaf and 1 pod on each plant) and those were THE hottest pods I've ever had!
