Thought list members would like to know that almost all coutries require phytosanitary certificate for importation of seeds from another country. Basically we broke the rules at both ends, unless I'm reading them wrong. At your end, start with this URL: http://www.maf.govt.nz/biosecurity/imports/plants/seeds-sowing.htm for the general stuff. Then go to this URL: http://www1.maf.govt.nz/cgi-bin/bioindex/bioindex.pl & type in Capsicum annuum in the Genus: field. Comes up Basic. Pg 17 of this URL: http://www.maf.govt.nz/biosecurity/imports/plants/standards/155-02-05.pdf I read that pepper seeds fall under the Basic conditions for importation which require a phytosanitary certificate for importation to NZ. US requirements are similar. Hope this helps, Paul > > > > > > The only such thing that I've done was to send some seeds to NZ, which > > apparently was quite illegal (at their end).
