I understand that wababi requires lot's of fresh, clean, flowing, cold water (it's like trout, I guess you could say), which is why it has only recently begun to be grown in a very small number of places outside the region of Japan where it is traditionally grown. So if it ends up seeming to not be thriving for you in the crock, you might try to somehow more closely emulate these alleged requirements. --- Brent
