Hello, all. My name is Paul Rodríguez. I have just planted my first habanero plants from seed. And have they grown! They are very beautiful orange habaneros with TONS of peppers! But I'm still relatively ignorant about these plants and I was wondering if you could help me out. First of all, I just brought them in to protect them from the NJ cold. The nights here are starting to get pretty chili as we move into the fall. Overall, they are faring pretty well. They continue to get plenty of light are after a couple of weeks are still producing habaneros. 1) Do habaneros produce peppers all year long if you keep them in the propper conditions? 2) Do you have to dry the seeds before replanting them? Or can they be planted fresh, or even in an over-ripe habanero? 3) What happens to the plants if left outside for a winter? Will they grow back? 4) Are the green habaneros any good? 5) Do the red/yellow varieties taste different? 6) Do I need to do anything to help pollination when the plants are indoors and don't have bugs to help? 7) Are there any good jelly recipes out there without SO MUCH sugar? Thanks for bearing with me. I'm looking forward to learning more about this world of peppers. - Paul Rodríguez
