Well, Mike in Montreal, Gary in Port Colbourne, and Linda in NORTH Tronna....and all you Merkins north of SoCal or the Keys :-), this OLD Cdn chile head, has a hot portugal, 3 years old, which is outside, and has 9 big beautiful red chiles and three green ones hanging on it. I just harvested all the Thais that were left on that plant, six, and it is also 3 years old. Mind you, this is Beautiful British Columbia, and I do bring the pots in every winter. About 5 or 6 years back I grew habs and Caribbean red hots, and kept those plants around for a few years also. I do like to try different varieties, so after a few years, I simply let the plants die off. I enjoy shocking the girls in the stupor mkt when they tell me that the habs I am buying are the hottest pepper in the world, and I should be very careful when using them. So, after they have weighed them I take one from the bag and bite it in half...mmm good! But hot also! clears the sinus instantly, but it is worth it to see the expression on those girls faces! M O M does NOT mean Mother...it is Mean Old Man!! Cheers, Doug in BC
