Mornin', pods. Here's some info on the event I mentioned last week - an eight-coure Thai and micro brew dinner, at the Bangkok Bistro in Georgetown. The dinner is being sponsored by TasteDC.com (standard disclaimer - I am not affiliated with TasteDC etc.). The Chile Man (that's me) has been invited to give a 20-minute talk about chiles (and our organic farm) before dinner. I'll bring samples of our 20 products, too. Bangkok Bistro 3251 Prospect St., NW (Georgetown) Washington, D.C. 7:00PM to 10:00PM The restaurant says, "Each dish will be at least as hot as the Thai version, but we guarantee that even connoisseurs of heat will be impressed by Gang Pah Half Stewed Hen and Chu Chu Fish which are almost off the charts for heat power! To keep you cool during this event, traditionally the Thai eat cool fresh vegetables and plenty of beer, so we’ll do the same!" This is a "seated event", so you'll need to make reservations. To do so (and to see the complete menu), log-on to http://www.tastedc.com and look for Jan. 28. Cost is $58, and includes tax and tip. They say micro brews will be served with each course - glad Mrs. Chile Man will be doing the driving! Hope to meet some of you there. -- Robert Farr The Chile Man (540) 668-7160 * A sustainable farm producing hot sauce marinades, salsas, mustards, and barbecue. * Subscribe to our online newsletter at http://www.thechileman.com * Check out this article about us from The Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/style/food/A8659-2001Jul17.html * Open Houses and Farm Tours throughout the year.
