One of the more renowned ChileHeads on this list, Jim Campbell has for the last several years opened his chile fields to members of this list to come and harvest pods that have not been used for his business. Crowds of ChileHeads have travelled hundreds if not thousands of miles to converge on his field in Indiana and strip it of what was left of the chiles remaining. The harvest itself has taken second place to ChileHeads actually meeting each other and bonding with each other. I've not actually attended one of these events but did risk bodily harm by riding in Rev Jims Chevy Suburban filled with huge sacks of dried chiles at a Hot & Spicy show in Albuquerque a few years ago. >----- Original Message ----- >From: <jim@wildpepper.com> >To: <Chile-Heads@globalgarden.com> >Sent: Thursday, January 09, 2003 10:19 AM >Subject: [CH] Open Fields 2003- date proposed > > > > First call! > > > > September 27th & 28th, 2003.
