[CH] Strange Pepper - Need I. D. please!

Hi Everyone:

I have found a pepper growing on bushes in several different places around
town - and now, even in my own yard - that I cannot identify. It is
egg-shaped, about the size of a petin, maybe a tad larger. When ripe, they
turn almost black, past the eggplant shade, anyway. I've seen these growing
in front of, and behind Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants; now there is one
taking root in my yard. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what kind this
is? Please enlighten me!
