Hi C-H's, FWIW, I contacted the authors of: J. of Food Sci. , Vol. 67, No. 3, 2002 HPLC Analysis of Capsaicinoids Extracted from Whole Orange Habaņero Chili Peppers .......asking why they chose that particular (tilded) spelling of habanero. Dr. Starks answered that he likes the Spanish inflection for the name, he has seen it spelled both ways in journals and that the peppers used in the study were of unknown source obtained from local supermarkets. -- --- Regards, Cameron.
