RE: I was wondering if the concept had invaded the world of capsicums? Only since the beginning of recorded chile history! :-) That's why the most common way of naming a chile is for the geographic region in which it was grown: Anaheim, New Mexican, Chimayo, Sandia, Barker, Cochiti, Tabasco, Jalapeno, Cayenne, ad infinitum. Chiles are well known for their ability to form a 'land race'. Chiles grown in your yard will in the space of only a few generations have characteristics that are unique from ones grown in mine though we start with the same seed. One of their best methods for adapting and surviving. -Jim C Mild to Wild
