This is true, Margaret. In fact they sell a square dish with a tight
fitting lid that has the ports on it for the vacuum sealer hose to fit in.
They are specifically for marinating meats and the instructions says you can
get a full marinade in 15 minutes. They are also wonderful for storing
lunch meats and cheese. After you vacuum out the air, the sandwich making
stay fresh for much longer than otherwise.
