I wasn't aware Yatsufasa/Chiles Japones were a "de Arbol" type chile. I had both Chile de Arbol and Yatsufasa last year. Chile de Arbol was pendant and fruits were single at the nodes. Yatsufasa was very erect and the peppers appeared in bunches like Madusa or Poinsettia. I will tell you that Yatsufasa produced an incredible amount of peppers last year even when we were under attack by the Cuban Pepper Weevil (Faustinus cubae) here in Tampa. They are fiery in taste, and dry well, as well as being tasty fresh. I would say that Yatsufasa is the most productive of the peppers in question. It was also submitted to me, and I read it in P.O.W. as well, that Yatsufasa and Chiles Japones were synonyms. Is this true? Allen Allen "Boat" Boatman Lutz, FL "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem."
