This was tonight's dinner - Spicy Shrimp w/Asparagus. This came out pretty good. I served it with some chinese chile paste on the side. If you don't eat bulghur wheat, which is what I served it on top of, use white rice. I like something bland so that you can really taste the flavors - the chiles, the lime juice. * Exported from MasterCook * Spicy Garlic Shrimp w/Asparagus Recipe By : RisaG Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Main Dish Seafood Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 tbsp vegetable oil 1 bunch asparagus -- sliced diagonally 3 cloves garlic -- minced 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper 1/4 tsp chile powder 1/4 tsp black pepper 1 lb large shrimp -- peeled & deveined 1 cup fish broth -- OR 1 cup clam broth 1 tbsp lime juice -- * see note Accompaniment: 1 1/2 cups bulgur Preheat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Use regular lime juice or some lemon juice, almost any citrus juice will do. If you don't have bulghur wheat, any rice will do as long as it is fairly plain in taste. No rice pilafs or mixtures. You want the flavor of the shrimp and the chiles to come through. ===== RisaG Risa's Food Service http://www.geocities.com/radiorlg Updated 2/28/03 __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
