Amerika has once channel on DirecTV and two channels on Dish that are HDTV streams. But, that's all. Tight now the NAB (Nat'l Assoc Broadcasters) is duking it out over which of the 31 plus digital formats will become the standard. Then they'll get around to deciding on the HDTV standards <GGG> We need for some two electronic giants like Sony, Toshiba , Philips, Thompson (RCA), JVC, Hitachi, Goldstar, Mitsubishi, Daewoo, etc. to agree on a standard and start selling sets at an affordable price thereby establishing a de facto standard. Much as JVC did with VHS while Sony was still trying to rape other makers with licence fees for BetaMax. The trick is going to be to get two of these giants to agree since each has its own pet "standard" that it is lobbying hard to get adopted. Meanwhile - MPEG is pretty standard everywhere. So, let's digitise the Food Channel stuff and Ms. Dewi, etc. and send the MPEGs around on the web so everyone can enjoy them on his 'puter. ENJOY!!!
