Hi Susan,
As you live in Canada, I assume your seed starting, right? I have never
had this problem with seed starting soils from Miracle Grow or Jiffy® Peat
Pellets as a seed starting medium. Without further info, I can only assume
these "worms" were in the seed starting medium prior to your planting.
If this is the case, I would recommend starting anew with a sterilized
Potting Soil from Scott's or whatever is available in your area. If this is
not possible, I've read about sterilizing garden soil for seed starting, a
couple of URL's for help:
http://www.accessatlanta.com/ajc/living/homeandgarden/reeves/1024.html
http://www.colostate.edu/Depts/CoopExt/4DMG/Soil/sterile.htm
If this is not the case, let me know.
Hope this helps,
Paul
