Too late.

He also gave me a bottle of Carolina-style bbq sauce, which I promptly used 
on some braised pork chops.

I had one chop too many to fit in the skillet, so I added more pepper to it 
and fried it separately.  However, I was smart enough NOT to put that 
extract sauce on anything I'd fry...
