Although I didn't eat much hot food on my 2-1/2 week
trip, I did buy 4 bottles of hot sauce and 3 bottles
of bbq sauce. 2 dry rubs.

These are the sauces:

Hillside Orchard Farms Five Pepper Hot Sauce
Virginia Gentleman VG 90 Bourbon Chipotle Hot Sauce
B'Egg for Mercy - The Broken Egg (a Siesta Key Rest.)
Crystal Extra Hot Hot Sauce

The first one I picked up at a souvenier place in GA
somewhere. It is quite hot. Has 5 kinds of peppers
including serranos, habs and finger peppers.

The second one I picked up at a gift shop on the Blue
Ridge Parkway. It is put out by the Virginia Gentleman
Bourbon company. It is really good.

The third I bought at The Broken Egg, one of my
favorite Siesta Key haunts. We have breakfast there,
at least once every Sarasota vacation. They put out a
green sauce and a red. I prefer the red. It has habs
in it and carrots, like Melinda's but not in the same
order.

Last is the new Extra Hot Crystal which definitely is
hotter than the regular, which I find has no heat at
all. I got it for 89 cents at Albertson's in
Sarasota's The Landing shopping center. It is pretty
good compared to the original.

All have been tried and my favorites are definitely
the VG sauce and the B'Egg for Mercy. Both delicious.

The 3 bbq sauces I bought were from different states -
one was from Johnny Harris' restaurant in Raleigh, and
was from Rainforest Cafe and the other was from Sticky
Fingers. I got their dry rub too.

Can't wait to try the bbq sauces and the rubs.

Had a great time eating my way down and back up the
coast. Ate some great food, none of it particularly
hot though.
