I was in Wegman's yesterday (upscale supermarket in NY/NJ area) and saw the following with a Free Hot Sauce thing around the top of the bottle - Frank's Red Hot Chile & Lime Sauce. Hmmm...I said. It is their extra hot sauce but with some cumin and lime flavor added. I bought it, of course. $2.39 for a 12 oz bottle. Did not have the 5 oz bottle size. Showed hubby who is a big Frank's fan. He said "hmmm. sounds good." Today I made homemade Tomato-Basil Soup. I put some in and it was very nice. I put a drop on my finger and tasted it by itself. Nice. A little heat and a good lime flavor. Hubby tried it and liked it. I filled out the certificate and we will get our $2.39 back but I will buy another bottle if I see it. Funny thing...they did not have the Frank's Extra Hot at all. Not even the 5 oz bottle. My local stupormarket has the 5 oz and no other size. I have been looking for the 12 oz size for weeks now, in any supermarket I go into, even in Sarasota, FL. In Sarasota, the only thing I saw, aside from Durkee and Crystal was the original Frank's in the big bottle. Albertson's had a better selection but no Extra Hot Frank's. My husbands cousin hadn't even heard of Franks. Shows how much he goes into the supermarket. Just wanted to let the moderate folk know about this. It is pretty tasty stuff. Next time I make plain shrimp, I'll douse it with it and really let the lime flavor show itself. Good sauce. Low heat but nice flavor.
