There is a new and inexpensive Indian restaurant in Sacramento,
California called Mother India. it is on the corner of J St. and 11th.
They are new and as such they don't have a fixed menu yet.
what they do do is a all you can eat buffet at lunch for $5.95. There
was a decent selection of food. There was a spicy salad with chiles, 3
veggie dishes, two dal dishes, two curries, tandoori chicken, rice and
naan(sp?). As it was a buffet none of the dishes were really picante
though they were spicy and tasty.  Compared to similar priced Chinese
buffets or hometown buffet (or the like) the taste and the quality were
much better. So if you're in downtown Sacto looking for a tasty but
inexpensive lunch, check out Mother india.
