That restaurant owned by Jimmy Bannos in Chicago reminded me of a place in NYC I went to once, many years ago, on Great Jones Street in Greenwich Village called Acme Bar & Grill. It has southern food and they also have a wall with a lot of different hot sauces on it. I think they only have a couple on the table though - the usual, Tabasco, Frank's Red Hot, wimpy sauces. But that article reminded me of Acme so much, but not the food. Mainly southern, some cajun or creole but mainly real southern cuisine - altho' I had gumbo there and biscuits. I recommend the place to anyone visiting NYC, if it is still there. RisaG
